This is how aid for the acquisition of new government vehicles is distributed.20 minutes
The expected aid to reactivate the Spanish automotive sector seems to be here. The Government has presented a draft of the Impulse Plan for the automotive industry value chain that will (foreseeably) be approved tomorrow in the Council of Ministers.
This plan has a total budget of 3,750 million euros that is divided into actions designed to be implemented in the short and long term, but how are the aid going to be distributed? Is the Moves 2020 plan activated? Below we try to answer some questions about this Plan.
It is a plan that includes the various lines of action of the Government and the automotive industry to reactivate the sector after the stoppage caused by Covid-19 and, at the same time, rejuvenate the car park by betting on sustainable and efficient mobility . It has immediate actions that will be activated tomorrow and other longer-term lines of work.
Of the total budget, this year 2020, 1,535 million euros will be mobilized . Of this total, 250 million euros will be distributed with free cars for unemployed the aim of renewing the Spanish automobile fleet in the hands of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. For light vehicles and tourism, 230 million will be allocated and the remaining 20 will go to the purchase of buses and heavy vehicles.
The vehicles that can be purchased with this aid are: passenger cars (M1) and light commercial vehicles of more and less than 2,500 kg of MMTA (N1) with ZERO, ECO or C labels and, on the other hand , buses and heavy vehicles of all technologies.
It will also be possible to benefit from this help if you want to buy a second-hand car as long as the registration is not prior to January 1, 2020, to help dispose of the stock of the dealers.
The beneficiaries can be individuals, freelancers, SMEs or large companies but a distinction will be made between natural persons (who will only get help to acquire a vehicle) and legal persons (who may benefit from the purchase of up to 30 vehicles).
In the case of the purchase of light commercial vehicles and passenger cars, it will be mandatory to scrap another vehicle that is at least 10 years old in order to receive the aid. In addition, if you want to buy a car, it must have an A or B energy label and not emit more than 120 grams of particles. For vans, the limit will be 155 grams.
The request for these grants is not compatible with that of the Moves Plan for the same acquisition and, in addition, the price of the tourism that you want to buy should not exceed 35,000 euros ( 45,000 euros maximum in the case of beneficiaries with reduced mobility or if acquires a model with a ZERO label).
